  1. Wonderful capture on this lovely green background Babsje, he seems to have eagle eyes for hunting, another great Blue heron moment * clap

    • Thank you! That was a magical morning, quite drizzly and the heron was languorous in fishing, plying the waters slowly. I kept downwind and out of sight and so “sat” with the heron for nearly an hour that day.

  2. Gorgeous! You must be extremely patient to have gotten that shot. Love it!

    • Thanks for the kind words! Sitting with the herons has taught me most of what I know about patience. They are exquisite in their patience. It is a calming.

  3. Really great 😉 !

  4. Stunning shot Babsje! What a beautie! 😀

    • Thank you! Sometimes when the weather is anything but sunny, the photos can show how lush the color green can be. The heron didn’t seem to mind the drizzle.

  5. Fabulous – and the spires of pink (bistort?) behind.

  6. Happy Wordless Wednesday! If you haven’t joined in on the linky fun at The Jenny Evolution, there’s still plenty of time. See you there!

  7. Beautiful. It looks like it’s on a green carpet.

  8. Just absolutely beautiful. So clear and detailed.
    Happy WW.

Be sure to link your recurring hop under the day when it’s normally posted.

  10. Forest So Green

Lovely photo. You must have the perfect place to sit and watch these beautiful birds 🙂 Annie

    • Thanks for the kind words. I do most of the heron photography in the Charles River Watershed. There are many ponds, streams, lakes and rivers frequented by the herons.
