Beautiful Great Blue Herons – Your Favorite Photos Posted In 2017
When I Met My Muse
I glanced at her and took my glasses
off–they were still singing. They buzzed
like a locust on the coffee table and then
ceased. Her voice belled forth, and the
sunlight bent. I felt the ceiling arch, and
knew that nails up there took a new grip
on whatever they touched. “I am your own
way of looking at things,” she said. “When
you allow me to live with you, every
glance at the world around you will be
a sort of salvation.” And I took her hand. When I Met My Muse

Frequent visitors to this blog will have little doubt that the Great Blue Heron is my muse. Perhaps she is also yours?
This week’s WordPress challenge has asked about our favorite photos posted in 2017. As an artist, I’m more interested in YOUR favorites – enough about me!
Whether or not the Great Blue Heron is your own muse (or totem, or spirit animal, whatever) I would love to know which are your favorites.
After the photos below, there’s a poll where you can let me know which you like. It has been 4 years since I’ve included a poll and so I hope you participate.

Through July 13, 2017 I was a Featured Artist at the Five Crows Gallery in Natick, MA. Drop in and see the work of the many wonderfully creative artists who show there when you’re in the area.

From July 1 through July 30, 2016, I was the Featured Artist of the Month at the Summer Street Gallery. The Great Blue Heron photographs once again graced the walls of the lobby and theater for my third one-woman show at The Center for Arts in Natick. In addition to the visual arts shown at the gallery, TCAN has a lively, dynamic lineup of upcoming performing artists.

Beautiful images of Herons. HAPPY NEW YEAR to you. I wish you good health, happiness and peace in 2018
Hi Margaret – Many thanks for your kind words and fond New Years wishes, too. I’m glad you appreciate the Herons as much as I do. Wishing health and happiness to you and yours in the new year. Best, Babsje
Babsje, I am deeply grateful for your way of looking at things, for the way your commitment to paying attention to the world and its herons, strengthens my own similar commitment, even if through a more widely angled lens. Happy New Year.
Hi Gary – I’m so glad you like this one and share a similarly “close reading” of our environments. Many thanks for your thoughtful comment. Wishing you and your Beloved a Happy New Year, with all good things. Best, Babsje
Wonderful examples of nature’s majesty, best to you in the New Year.
Hi Sally – Many thanks for your kind words, I’m so glad you like the Great Blue Herons. Happy New Year with wishes of health and prosperity in the coming year for you and yours. Best, Babsje
I’d love to post those RTHs, duly credited (actually they are self credited!) at some stage. I have a raptor post in mind – that’s a wonderful photo! May I (quite understand if you prefer not). RH
Hi RH – Many thanks for asking, I’m glad you like the RTH photo and you’re welcome to post it so long as credited. Thank you for asking. Best, Babsje
What a beautiful galery again.
Many thanks for your kind words, again. I am very happy that you appreciate the Herons! Best, Babsje
