Great Blue Heron Soaring Above the Cove – babsjeheron
Guys, you said there’s a Labor Day Party!
Where is everybody?

Great Blue Heron on Dock Labor Day Weekend – babsjeheron

Guys? Where are you? I’m ready for the party!
.
.
File this under silly fun with Herons!
.
This post is prompted by Cee Neuner and Debbie Smyth and the creative and inspiring Lens Artists Tina, Amy, Patti, and Leya, all of whom encourage the community of photographers and writers. This week, the Lens Artists focus on gorgeous photos with the theme of Keep Walking. My submission – in the spirit of fun – shows the Great Blue Heron walking around the dock. he keeps walking in search of his friends, who are clearly late to the party.
.
Thanks to Cee for her CFFC: Tomorrow. Silly Heron, the party is TOMORROW!
.
Thanks to Debbie for her Six Word Saturday . This post title has the requisite six words!

Thanks Tina! Your comment captures the mood perfectly! 😊 😊 Best, Babsje
Dear Babsje,
great and funny – the combination of words and pictures.
Wishing you a happy weekend
The Fab Four of Cley
🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
Many thanks for your kind words. I feel that we all could use some smiles and silliness these days. Also I had meant to comment about the book fair post in the World According to Dina. What a marvelous thing the Fab Four and the townsfolk all put together. 13,000 books is an amazing haul and speaks highly of the reading vorscity of the community. Wonderful to see. Best, Babsje
A Blue feeling blue. Nobody to sip tea with or have fish sandwiches.
Yep, you sure know how to read a Great Blue’s body language! Thanks for the creative and fun comment, Wayne.
I’m sure it would love to find little fish flopping about!
Yes, or even big fish! That dock is a favorite hangout for the Herons. I bet the homeowners have no clue what does on when they’re not around their back yard?
Great series! Happy Heron!
Hi Amy. So glad you liked this little bit of fun. Happy Heron indeed. Best, Babsje
Ha! 😉 Beautiful soarer!
Hi John.so glad you like that soaring Heron. He is the alpha-male I mentioned in an earlier post about how to tell individual herons apart. He is the tne with the wonky broken toe that hangs down awkwardly. Thanks for your kind comment. Best, Babsje
Hilarious! Happy Labor Day. We’re taking it easy at home as my husband is on call all three days. Not bad, though. We’re watching the last two days of La Vuelta cycling race, working a beautiful but really hard puzzle, and watching some rugby as well (my husband used to play). Good stuff.

Hi Janet. What a fun-filled weekend you have in store! A tubby player eh? That’s a serious take-θ<-prisoners sport. But your challenging puzzle is more my speed. Enjoy your long weekend and I hope his in call doesn't call too often (if at all). Thanks for your kind comment. Glad you found the Heron hilarious. Best. Babsje
Lol. Spell check turned “rugby player” into “tubby player.” I swear that is not what I typed. I have eyesight problems and surgery to correct this coming Wednesday. I should just step away from the keyboard until after then! I am so embarrassed. Oops
Ha! I thought that was the case but it gave me a good laugh because although there might be big, heavy-looking men playing rugby, no tubby player would last long. 🙂
You’re right. No tubby player stands a chance. But I hope he isn’t reading the comments down here. 😊 😊
He says he didn’t used to be tubby but is tending more that way these days than he’d like. 🙂
Oh nooo! Maybe the challenging puzzle will count as a workout?
He doesn’t qualify for “tubby” although he is trying to lose some weight. Doesn’t help that his work is IT which means he’s sitting here at his computer all day.
Former IT person here. I feel his pain and know that sheer lack of activity very very well. And the on-call stuff is for the birds. Starting on my 30th birthday, I got a 3am page at shift change. It got so I could troubleshoot without fully waking up. Good thing it was only a business app and nothing related to safety or health.
No, but I’m going to tell him. He’ll get a kick out of it.
Ok. Do I win typo of the month award?? 🏆
I’m not sure who the other contenders are but yours would be in the top ones!
Someone in the last two months had “Best regards” in an email to a client go out as “Breast regards.” That one is the clear winner. I’m off the hook. 😊
Oooooo! Yikes! 🙂
Yep for real. She gets the 🏆
😀
Glad you like it Leya! Thanks. Best. Babsje 😊
Long as chicken is not on the grilling menu, LOL. 🙄😏😉
Rofl. Good one David! Best, Babsje
Girls gotta have fun every now and then! 😉
You can say that again. Thanks for the fun comment! Best, Babsje
